Joyang Bangjik war die erste Rayonfabrik in Ganghwa, die im Jahre 1933 mit inländischem Kapital gebaut wurde, sie wurde allerdings mit dem Rückgang der Beliebtheit von Textilen Ganghwas geschlossen. Das Gebäude verfiel und geriet in Vergessenheit, bis es in ein riesiges Café umgewandelt wurde. Die eingestürzte Wand wurde eine schicke Kunstgalerie und ein Kino, die lange Werkbank zu Tischen und der ehemalige Arbeitsbereich voller Maschinen und Menschen wurde mit Antiquitäten aus China und Europa gefüllt. Eine Tür mit kaputtem Fenster aus England, ein runder Spiegel aus einem alten Zug in Tschechien und eine Maschine für Bungeoppang (mit süßer Bohnenpaste gefüllter Teig in Fischform), die jeden Winter fleißig arbeitete, sind so arrangiert, als während sie schon immer dort gewesen. Neben verschiedenen Getränken kann man auch allerlei Kuchen bestellen.

    Der Daeryong-Markt wurde von Flüchtlingen aus Yeonbaek-gun, Hwanghae-do während des Koreakrieges eröffnet, die nach der Teilung Koreas nicht in ihre Heimat zurückkehren konnten und daher auf der Insel Gyodongdo eine Nachstellung des Yeonbaek-Marktes in ihrer Heimat gründeten. Über die Jahre wurde der Markt immer kleiner, da die meisten älteren Vertriebenen, die den Markt gründeten, verstarben und die Einwohnerzahl stark abnahm. Nach dem Bau der Brücke Gyodongdaegyo im Jahre 2014 ist er jedoch wieder zu einer der empfehlenswertesten Sehenswürdigkeiten der Gegend und ein beliebter Fotospot geworden, da er wie ein Filmset aus den 1960ern aussieht. Vor einiger Zeit wurde Gyodong Giga Island, auch „Schwalbenhaus Gyodong“, eröffnet, wo man unter anderem Fahrräder und Smartuhren ausleihen und an Erlebnisprogrammen teilnehmen kann.
